Passport photos are a small, annoying errand. A drugstore charges around fifteen dollars for two prints, the photo booth at the mall eats your coins, and the free tools online tend to stamp a watermark across your face until you pay.
The photo itself is not hard. It is a picture of a face at a known size. What people get wrong is the measuring: how tall the head has to be, where the eyes should sit, how white the wall really is. That part is easy for software, so this site does it for you and leaves the printing to any 4 × 6 photo counter.
How it works
When you choose a photo, a small face detector runs in your browser. It finds the face, the eyes, the chin and the top of the hair. From those it works out how far to zoom and turn the photo so that it meets the rules for the document you picked. Then it measures the result and shows you the numbers.
None of this needs our server, so your photo is never uploaded. That was a deliberate choice. A picture of your face next to the fact that you are applying for a passport is not something a website needs to keep.
What it will not do
It will not retouch your face, swap your clothes or invent a background behind hair that was never photographed. Passport offices reject altered photos, and some now check for it. If the light was bad, the honest fix is to take the photo again near a window, and the check list will tell you when that is the case.
Who runs it
This site is run independently. It has no connection to any government, passport office or visa service. If you spot a size that is out of date, or the tool gets something wrong, please tell us.
